0:20 we start off with a horrid take actually. stereo madness is actually pretty good at teaching the games mechanics, from showing how high you jump due to the first spike alone, to the ship part being mostly empty so new players can get a feel for how the ship physics work. also, it was made in the first goddamn version of the game, of course it’s going to look mid by todays standards, and considering that 1.0 levels just unironically sucked ass if they weren’t trying to imitate robtop style, stereo madness is actually one of the better looking levels made in 1.0
0:33 if every part sucks, then why include it in the top 100 best gd levels? there’s over 8 billion gd levels and you’re telling me a level which you explicitly said “every part is horrible” is better than something like demon park or tunnel of despair or literally any other rated level? yes it has charm, but silent clubstep has 1.6 charm, looks better visually (and test tube i’m guessing was made in 2.1), innovative gameplay wise (which went on to inspire the entire genre of impossible levels (which don’t tell me there’s few, there’s an entire three lists and probably more dedicated to different difficulties of impossible levels with precise definitions, and entire subcommunities made around them)), and yet that was never put on the list.
1:18 xxix by spu7nix looks better, is technically more impressive, and only requires 29 objects

9:15 yes, this level was made entirely with 1.0 objects, but that’s the thing, if you took a look at the id, it was made much more recently. it uses the objects but not the same mindset as a 1.0 creator (a level like this would’ve never existed in 1.0) or object limit, so a level like this existing in 1.0 would be unrealistic (also imo there’s much better levels by skubb that use 1.0 objects)

21:42 i’m not sure what to say when waboo says “you can’t see the gameplay but who cares” as artist’s intent is definitely something that should be be taken into account when making any form of art, but if it was meant to actually be played, then that’s a pretty bad thing since having brainrot covering 60% of the screen is equivalent to not being able to see 60% of the screen, again, another rule of game design is to make sure that every mistake feels like the player’s fault, but not being able to see something you died to can be extremely frustrating, so unless it was made mostly to just be watched and get brainrot from, it’s not that good. agree with everything else tho

26:50 again, incredibly good level, one of the best levels imo. but, there’s this level by spu7nix called brainfugd by spu7nix which literally had an entire programming language made for it which emulated another programming language within geometry dash. considering that i believe literally no level ever has gone to that length before, and was made in 2.1, it is just as good as what (this doesn’t mean i think it’s the best level, i said what was *one of* the best level*s*

conclusion: waboo has more bad takes than good, waboo is a new gen player, waboo’s target audience is people who have barely played gd, waboo doesn’t know what game design is even though he constantly mentioned layouts (which coincidentally all have effects i’m pretty sure), waboo values decoration over actual player experience, waboo’s editing is pretty okay, salmon garden is a peak level /s, and almost all of spu7nix’ levels are mid, unoriginal, and not innovative /s.
finally, waboo and i should go outside
would’ve loved to see cataclysm, bloodbath, zodiac, mastergame, how, dim, brainfugd, grief, apocalyptic trilogy, sonic wave, silent club, forest temple, killbot , slaughterhouse (og), death corridor, silent circles, and silent clubstep all be somewhere on this list but ig old levels that are incredibly original (like cata, zodiac, apocalyptic trilogy, silent club, killbot), especially for their time, innovative (like mastergame, how, dim, brainfugd, cata, killbot), (mostly) beautiful (apocalyptic trilogy, forest temple, how), and sometimes even started completely different genres of levels (like impossible levels and memory levels), are just too bad for waboo’s standards.
imo, this video would be better with a title and script that was more in line with “really cool levels in geometry dash”, without the ranking aspect so you don’t have to bring as much subjectivity into it, and don’t have to deal with innovation and gd veterans (which to be clear, i am NOT) getting angry for not featuring a singular funnygame in it
waboo should probably actually give constructive criticism as to why the levels shown low on the list are there and what they could’ve done better, you can’t just say “it’s low on this list because i said so” you actually have to give a reason why, that was taught in goddamn primary school
